Screen Printing is a traditional technique of printing that involves pressing ink through a mesh stencil, or screen, onto the T-shirt. The process begins by separating your artwork into individual colors. Screens are created for each color in your design and then arranged in succession onto a specially designed screen printing press. A heat-curable ink is pressed through the stencils with a squeegee onto the T-shirt one at a time resulting in a uniform and vibrant layer of ink. The T-shirt is then sent through a special conveyor dryer to cure the ink making your artwork permanent.
Each color in your design requires an additional "screen" as well as additional setup and print time. When you upload your artwork you will have the option to reduce and/or change the colors in you wish to print See our prices page for a full explanation and list of prices.
We can achieve a full-color photo-realistic print using a "Simulated Process" printing technique. This requires additional processing and generally requires 9 or more colors to achieve. Please make sure to request this process when ordering and select at least 9 print colors. Depending on your artwork there may be additional charges for more colors
Specialty inks are available upon request and are generally priced at $.25 per color, per print. Not all specialty inks are compatible with all fabric types so your request will be subject to review by our print Dept. Online pricing is based on estimated cost and will be adjusted after your order is reviewed. Water-based printing is the alternative to traditional plastisol inks and a great option for creating a soft hand, distressed, and vintage looks. Water-based inks are thinner and work best when printed on light garments or on a dark garment that has been discharged. After washing, the inks have a nearly absent feel to the touch. Limited to orders of 72 pieces or more.
Discharge is the process of removing the dyed pigment in a garment's fabric, leaving the fabrics natural color behind (a look similar to bleach), and replacing it with a small amount of white pigment. Discharging works best on fabric that is 100% cotton or have been treated for discharge. Limited to orders of 72 pieces or more.

One option for a vintage look is reduced plastisol ink. This works great for white prints as its less thick than water base white. A reducer is added into a plastisol ink, basically watering it down to have a softer hand.
